As a 14 year old, Damon Kendrick lost his leg as a result of a shark attack whilst he was on duty as a lifesaver in South Africa. At 16, he went to university to study Physiology and Sport Science. Despite losing his leg, Damon went on to excel at a national level in Diving against able-bodied competitors and continued to push the limits taking on the flying trapeze at 29. Damon relocated to Australia in 1995 and pursued his new found skill for horse riding, taking 1st place in the Australian Championships for Carriage Driving in 2001. However, soon the water called and he went back to his childhood sport of swimming, competing in the World Masters Games in Edmonton in 2005 where he won 5 gold medals. Damon is an avid MBT wearer, claiming that he finds it difficult to wear any other shoe. “Never have I been so pain free in wearing my prosthesis… I can now walk further in my MBT’s than in any other shoe.”

Since I purchased and bought my shoes I have suffered no pain in my feet for the first time in approximately 15 years and want to attend the workshop to obtain the best possible benefit from them. Before I discovered these magic shoes I have had to wear orthotics because of my dropped arches and heel spurs. Last year I broke my ankle and the metatarsals in my foot and I have often been on anti-inflamatory medication because of the pain in both feet, my ankles and recently in my hip.
My husband is a type 2 diabetic with pain in his feet and has also benefited from wearing these shoes .
The instant relief I've found just by wearing MBT shoes is amazing and I am very pleased to recommend them to anyone who has tried every thing else and still suffers. . . .

At last footwear to write home about.

As a result of a bus crushing injury, in 1995 I have a partial foot amputation, the first and second toes and the metatarsal of the first toe, (so no ball, no heel pad, and three toes). Most of my foot is fused together and walking is difficult, as I don’t have a push off with a big toe or flexibility in the forefoot. Now the third, forth and fifth toes are clawed as a result of compensatory techniques.

It was suggested to me by an orthopaedic surgeon to get a pair of MBT’s as the rocker motion would compensate for the lack of movement in my foot and ankle. Intrigued, I looked online and when I found out the cost I was reluctant to spend so much on shoes, as I have a wardrobe full of shoes that feel great for the five minutes you try them on in the shop but kill my foot wearing them for half a day.

It took me eighteen months to finally relent and purchase them a month ago and my only regret is waiting that long. I no longer need to place my foot half way over a step in order to step down, I can walk up a hill normally, I don’t limp as much, and my posture is looking much straighter. All this from one pair of shoes!! Who would have thought!

I am extremely grateful to Karl MÜller and the MBT team for engineering these wonderful mobility aids. I don’t have to worry about whether my orthotics will fit inside and whether I’ll be able to wear them all day, I know I can as all the models are based on the same technology and physiology, now shoe shopping is a pleasant and risk free experience for me again.

Thanks a million and keep the range growing.
An extremely grateful,
