Damon Kendrick Australian Athlete
As a 14 year old, Damon Kendrick lost his leg as a result of a shark attack whilst he was on duty as a lifesaver in South Africa. At 16, he went to university to study Physiology and Sport Science. Despite losing his leg, Damon went on to excel at a national level in Diving against able-bodied competitors and continued to push the limits taking on the flying trapeze at 29. Damon relocated to Australia in 1995 and pursued his new found skill for horse riding, taking 1st place in the Australian Championships for Carriage Driving in 2001. However, soon the water called and he went back to his childhood sport of swimming, competing in the World Masters Games in Edmonton in 2005 where he won 5 gold medals. Damon is an avid MBT wearer, claiming that he finds it difficult to wear any other shoe. “Never have I been so pain free in wearing my prosthesis… I can now walk further in my MBT’s than in any other shoe.”

Wearing MBT’s has improved my posture dramatically in terms of the way I walk and stand, by strengthening my back and the supporting muscles. Being an athlete who trains 6 days a week, the MBT’s have also provided my muscles an extra workout while I’m wearing them at work”
